During the last two years a series of 3- dimensional weavings was developed by Henriette Ackermann.
The aim of this research is to create fabrics that are either multi- layered or transform themselves after the weaving process. The intention is to look beyond the regular usage of fabrics, into a more wider field of applications (e.g. architecture or technical textiles). Within the weaving process contrasting materials are combined. Thus volume or material tension is created. By using extra large yarn the fine structure of a woven textile becomes visible.
